When you go to safari in Kenya, you are likely to spot more than 350 bird species. Almost 1,100 have been recorded in the different habitats - coastal, savanna, highlands and wetlands.
The lakes within Kenya’s Great Rift Valley are a home of pink flamingos, plover, marabou storks and herons. Safaris with a specific focus on birds are not unusual. They are educational expeditions and are led by ornithologists. They include remote regions such as Kakamega Forest National Reserve where blue touracos and hornbills live.
Bird lovers can also find avian beauties in Botswana’s Okavango River Delta.
