Africa Vacation

Africa safari

Africa safari isn’t just a matter of jumping on a plane and heading off into the magnificent African sunset. There is a little preparation to be done:

1. Check the weather: this is crucial on how enjoyable your holiday will be. Talk to your travel agent about it. A travel agent is usually qualified enough to know when it’s wet or dry in most countries.

2. Clothing: don’t pack the entire wardrobe - you don’t need it and certainly leave your dancing shoes at home. Pack light and be sure you have a very comfortable pair of walking shoes.

3. Personal care items: sun block, sunburn cream, lip balm and bug spray are essential. Pain relief, upset stomach aid and antihistamine just in case you need it.

4. Travel insurance: when you book your trip, buy some kind of travel insurance so your vacation investment is protected if Mother Nature gets in the way.

5. Reliable digital camera with a ton of memory.

6. Binoculars to be able to better enjoy the wild life.

7. Photo ID: passport plus make a copy of your passport and have it in a different place while on the trip.

8. Flashlight.

9. Umbrella.

10. Several pairs of sunglasses.

While being on Africa safari can be exciting, you need to remember that their customs are significantly different than your own. Be respectful of such differences to avoid any conflicts. It is a good idea to read about the various customs that will be in place so you won’t reach them by accident.
