Africa safari isn’t just a matter of jumping on a plane and heading off into the magnificent African sunset. There is a little preparation to be done:

Crater floor is sprinkled with watering holes and the crater is a volcanic caldera that spans an area more than 100 square miles.
You can witness the great annual wildebeest migration in the Serengeti National Park. Embark on an early morning game drive to view wildlife at one of their most active times of the day. Look for herds of zebra or wildebeest eyeing a predator warily and spot crocodiles as their snouts surface in the Grumeti River. Or take in a birds-eye view of the plains on hot-air baloon ride.

The Fetu Afahye - harvest festival of the Fetu people, gathers momentum after a period of ritual silence. The Omanhene - head chief, meditates in isolation for a week; drums are prohibited and fishing is banned in the Foso lagoon. But at the end of August a series of celebrations, including a regatta, the ceremonial reopening of the lagoon, bonfires and a cow sacrifice breaks the calm.
The partying climaxes on the first Saturday of September. Decked out in their finery, local chiefs parade through town, carried on brightly decorated litters and followed by elaborately dressed warrior groups known as Asafo Companies.

In the southern Kenya resort town of Diani Beach, the East African Whale Shark Trust is working to phase out the use of theese nets in favor of safer fishing methods, to educate residents and tourists about the sharks, and to build an international whale shark database.
